Stethoscope on laptop computer keyboard

I have this policy of always putting on an Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware package on any machine that gets used in my house and gets on my network. I don’t believe in buying packages though, when there are free products available that do exactly the same thing. This is what I use:

  • Microsoft Defender (formerly Microsoft Antispyware): This is my anti-spyware of choice. I’ve always had good results with it and it has never let me down so far.
  • AVG Free: I find this just great. The newer versions are even easier to use and again I’ve never been let down by it.

What about you? I have you have these 2 types of products on your machine. Which solutions do you prefer?
